How you might ask?

Kinja'd!!!

With a lot of MAPP gas and an impact wrench cranked to 11.

When my dad got home today he remembered he had a canister of MAPP gas in the back of his workbench.

Kinja'd!!!

After ten minutes straight of MAPP gas torch on each one they came right off. Those bastards were toasty when they hit the floor though.

Went out for a test drive and burned off all the WD40 and PB, it was real smokey for a bit.

Congrats!!

Rust doesn’t lose many fights, but it’s nice when it happens.

When the bolts were glowing completely red I was pretty much at a “if this doesn’t work nothing will” point. I’m glad it did, since I spent seven hours today laying under the car.

Hot hot heat FTW!

I also won a stuck nut battle today, but with a hacksaw. Damn tire pressure sensors....

I didn’t have a sawzall or a nut cutter, so I was thrilled when the MAPP worked.

you can add those to a growing list of tools you should sometime eventually get.............. i dont use my oxygen torch, or my sawzall everyday, but when i do use them, things get done.......

glad you made what you had on-hand work........... thats what you have to do, is set there, and come up with a way to make things happen with what you got.......... its fun for the whole family, especially on the side of the road.........

you done good.......

The blue tip wrench wins again!

When you reassembled everything, did you put some Nevr-Seez on it? That makes life in the future a lot easier.

The next time I have to mess with it, it probably won’t have to meet emissions anymore. Long-tube headers will be the fix.

Fire Wrench wins yet again!

A Plumbing style “Turbo Torch” head would be a good investment.

when i was in college and had to fit everything in a toolbox due to lack of garage, i had found a set of torches at sears that used standard MAPP cylinders and oxygen cylinders of the same size. super portable, gave you about 10 minutes on a tank of oxygen, was hot enough to cut exhaust pipe. saved my butt a bunch of times.

Sweet! There’s always that one fastener that makes a fairly simple job an absolute beast.

Nice work!

I recently got the O2 sensor bung on my crown vic to glow. Sensor still wouldn’t budge. I’m going to let someone else deal with it.
